Assalamu alaikum warahmatuallah
As Jesus (as) has not married. What does his ummah does not follow him in marital affairs? Further he was a Rasool with a Shariah revealed as Gospels and he need to be a practical model for his followers.
Some speakers say that he was not an ideal role model as his life does not cover the whole aspects of life. What is the clear picture of that Shariah and his life?

There are some misconceptions in the statement:
1. A role model does not mean that a person covers every aspect of life but he is an ideal character from some specific angle. For example, we consider Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as our role model but it does not mean that we should expect him to teach us accountancy, cancer treatment, agricultural sciences, constructing a bridge etc. He is a great role model from perspective of morality and whatever he did in his life was an ideal example of such highest standards of morality. Same is the case of Prophet Jesus علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام.
2. Prophet Jesus علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام was sent to Bani Israel. There was no need to send another Shari’ah as the Shari’ah of Prophet Moses علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام was intact and complete. The missing part was that the Jews of that time (like many present-day Muslims) forgot the real spirit of the Shari’ah. The Injeel (or Gospel) did not give a new Shari’ah but revealed its real spirit of the existing Shari’ah of Prophet Moses and it was the prime mission of Prophet Jesus. See his following speeches that will clarify his mission:
1. Jerusalem
2. Mount
Prophet Jesus علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام revived the true Shari’ah of Prophet Moses علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام and revealed the wisdom behind it. Due to this reason, the Quran called the Torah as “the Law” and the Gospel as “the Wisdom.”
People who pass such comments about perfection of Prophet Jesus علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام are unintentionally committing a great blasphemy which they must avoid. All the prophets are great role models for us and are perfect human beings. The problem is in our expectations about the role of a prophet in terms of a role model and we should correct our expectations from a prophet. A prophet would be an ideal human being from moral perspective. It does not mean that he would practically implement such morality in each and every aspect of life. Wherever and whenever he will have a chance to demonstrate such morality, he will stand out among all people.
Christians were supposed to follow the Torah in each matter of their life. However, due to influence of St. Paul, they developed an idea of abrogation of Shari’ah and as a result; their monks and scholars produced their own laws called as “Canon Laws” which govern the Catholic Church. A group of Christians continued to follow the Shari’ah of Torah but the followers of Paul dominated. Such true Christians were present until the time of Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, they accepted his call and finally became a part of the Muslim Ummah. Examples include Najashi, the king of Abyssinia and Salman Al-Farsi.
