What is Kashf and what is its significance in religion?

Dear Brother,

Asslam o Alaikum,

What’s your opinion about KASHAF, I only need to ask for information as I have very strong belief that this nothing to do with the religion and due to this most of the people diverted from the path of Quran and Sunnah.

Best Regards,

Dear Brother

Wa alaikum us salam wa Rahmatullah

Kashf is a natural phenomenon. It literally means mystical experience through which something is suddenly revealed in mind. We can see or get some information in a dream or a daydream which is called Kashf. It is something similar to dream which may be right or wrong and has nothing to do religion. The Kashf may be from Allah or it may be from Satan and the later can interfere in it. Therefore, the phenomenon exists but it is not reliable.

In some Sufi circles, Kashf is given a lot of importance and even people accept attributing Ahadith to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم through Kashf. This is not a legitimate practice and even Shari’ah-minded Sufis reject this notion because the Kashf of any person is subject to error and there might be Satanic interference in that.
