Question:
Janab Nazir Sahab, Assalam u Alaikum,
I have read your books from kitabghar.com. I am very much fan of you the way you present your insight on religion and social issues in the travelogues is marvelous. Nowadays I am reading your travel of Turkey. It will help my friends a lot who are going this month to Istanbul on a personal trip.
I have a question for you. I am sure you will respond it. I have performed two times Umrah. Recently in May 2010 when I visited Madina I also visited the Wadi -e-baizaa (famous by the name of Wadi-e-Jinn in Pakistan). I personally experienced the amazing pull on car against the slope. It was mind boggling when the car automatically attained the speed of 140Km/hr. I am also a mechanical Engineer and an MBA but when I experienced it I was totally astonished. Could you please give any scientific or religious reasoning for the same ? Please reply me I am passionately waiting for your response.
Fee amanillah,

Dear Iqbal sb
Wa alaikum us salam wa Rahmatullah e wa Barakatuhu
Many thanks for your kind comments. I am sorry that we did not meet during your visit. I live in Jeddah. Your comments on Turkey’s safarnama will add a lot of value for me.
About Wadi Baidaa, I’ve no idea. It has no religious significance. The objective of religion is to describe the relation between God and man. Solving the mysteries of this universe is the domain of science which tries to explain the “Works of God”. There are thousands of mysteries still unresolved by the science.
Although this valley is situated near Madina but I’ve not found any Hadith about it. I think that the mysterious nature of gravitational forces was not discovered at the Prophet’s time (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) because they did not have vehicles like us. That’s why we don’t find any single comment on this in ancient literature.
Some geologist can give a better answer. My knowledge is very limited in this area. There might be some geologist in your company working in oil exploration. Discuss with him. Various videos are available on youtube about it. Show that to him and get his opinion. If you find it, also update me as well. What I’ve concluded till now is that the magnetic field or gravity in that area is extra-ordinary. That may be the reason that a car at neutral gear can achieve the speed of 140 km/h in that valley. But definitely a geologist can tell better.
Whenever you come next time, let me know in advance so that we can meet.
wassalaam
